LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Music by LAURA CHEADLE “Red Ain’t Everything”
This issue marks a year and a half for ION Indie Magazine. As I look back over the evolution of this publication, I sometimes
find myself marveling at our growth. When we first started, just getting approved for a show was somewhat of a challenge
(“ION who?”). And now, with this December edition, we have both MARILYN MANSON and ARIANA GRANDE (talk about polar
opposites!) appearing--c/o ION Photojournalist TIMOTHY SCHUMANN! Thank you, loyal readers, for embracing this vision
and supporting our initiative. We couldn’t have done it without you!
This December issue features a lady I personally admire--Blues artist LAURA CHEADLE! DJ SCOTTY J of ROCK TITAN TV
conducts the interview with this scintillating songstress. He also is the talented videographer that filmed her new video “This
Love Looks Good On Me”. Laura appeared in ION in 2014…and we’ve been fans of hers ever since! Read all about Laura
Cheadle in these pages.
Congratulations to our friends in the bands BEHIND THE GREY and TFP (THE FACTOR PROJECT) on their new music! We are
pleased to present a feature by ION Journalist MARK URICHECK on Behind The Grey’s latest CD “Through the Grip of Tyrants”,
and we are equally delighted to announce the EP release of another band that has appeared in our pages, TFP, and their newly
launched “Evolution”. TFP’s lead singer/songwriter is none other than ION’S own SHAWN “CHAOS” PETERS (Columnist for
CHAOS’S CORNER). Also in this issue, is ION Photojournalist MARK MYERS’ behind-the-scenes photographic peek at the
filming of RED SKY MARY’S new video “Gone”. You may remember Red Sky Mary from our September 2015 cover. We always
enjoy reporting on artists that have previously graced ION and keeping up with their triumphs!
As we move into the holiday season and anticipate cherished times with the ones that are nearest and dearest to us, let us
remember to keep the people of Paris in our thoughts and prayers. So many lives were forever changed by this unspeakable,
senseless tragedy. I wish all those worldwide that were touched by this horrific event, peace and healing--and the comfort in
knowing, they are not alone…the world stands with them!
From the staff of ION Indie Magazine, a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a most Joyous Kwanza—and to everyone
that embraces this season of renewal and hope, our warmest wishes.
