Biography: DIRTY SMILE is a 5-piece new/vintage rock band from the heart of “rust belt realness”, Buffalo, NY. Armed with a batch of honest songs and an infectious energy, Dirty Smile stands resolute in its pursuit of rock n roll greatness. The band's hometown breeds a blue collar ethic that seeps into the music. It's palpable. They've put in the hours on the sweaty stages of the Western New York region and New York City honing their craft. Dirty Smile has also cut their teeth on the national stage; supporting WEEZER, BRAND NEW, THEORY OF A DEADMAN, CRAIG MORGAN, DENNIS DEYOUNG (STYX), LOWEST OF THE LOW, and THE TEA PARTY. They finished 2016 as recipients of THE BEST OF BUFFALO AWARD for “Best Original Music Act”. The energy of their live performance leaps from the bandstand with grand enthusiasm. It's difficult to ignore the vibrant, free-flowing presence of MEGAN BROWN at the microphone. ERIK EIMILLER (drums/vocals), JESSE RADERMAN (electric guitar), MIKE SUDA (bass guitar), and GUS WALTERS (acoustic guitar/vocals), form the adept band behind Brown that sounds seasoned beyond its years; dynamic and intense with a rock soul. Legendary Canadian songwriter and performer RON HAWKINS (LOWEST OF THE LOW, THE RUSTY NAILS, DO GOOD ASSASSINS) mixed and mastered Dirty Smile's debut EP entitled “Love Songs for the Damned: Volume 1” (2014) and produced their dual single effort released in November of 2015. Their most recent video single releases “Strange Times,” “Faceless Woman,” and “S.O.S.” are gaining plenty of traction on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, with thousands of views. Dirty Smile also won the regional “Hard Rock Rising” 2014 competition (including Western, NY, St. Catharines, ON, and Erie, PA) which vaulted them into the global battle. The global competition saw Dirty Smile finish top 3 out of 10,000 world-wide hopefuls. The momentum from the “Hard Rock Rising” competition continues still, and has seen the band make many television, radio, and new media appearances. Introduction: The first time I saw Dirty Smile was at the HARD ROCK CAFE in Niagara Falls, NY as part of the 2014 “Hard Rock Rising” competition. That year they won the local competition and finished 3 overall worldwide. Fast forward a year or two and they were opening for Lowest of the Low -- and Ronny Hawkins of Lowest of the Low joined them for a couple of songs. As I write this, they just opened for the BUFFALO PHILHARMONIC and THE STRICTLY HIP at CANALSIDE playing for a sold-out crowd of 10,000…and I'm pretty sure most of those 10,000 people knew who they were.
