WATTS is a Rock 'N' Roll band from Boston, Massachusetts, in USA. The band playing Rock 'N' Roll with a heapin’ dose of
Classic Rock elements. The opening and title track “The Black Heart of Rock n Roll wastes no time heralding a glimpse of
what is set to be served. It is a catchy tune with DEF LEPPARD influences worthy of any stadium. The AC/DC-ish track “Up All
Night” digs into the listener’s mind and then makes itself “at home”.
Squealing guitars and palpable energy are found in the track “Strut (Like a Champ)”…which smacks you between the eyes
with no apologies. Another song which showcases this hard-rockin’ band is “Stage Fright”…pure power! Leaning toward a
more “alternative” vibe is the track “The B Side”. A personal favorite of mine is the song “Bring on the Lights”…it’s just a
memorable song with the Classic Rock elements that I love…a la ‘80’s!
“She’s So Electric” is pure “Stones”. But not to be button-holed into up-tempos…there is the song “Bye & Bye” (with a
somewhat “country” feel) and also the track “Sunset”…somewhat “Beatle-esque” in its overtones.
I recommend this album by Watts for every Rocker...or Rocker-at-heart...who craves their rock served on a slighty dirty dish.
This is a gritty in-you-face album that delivers what it promises...the black heart of Rock n Roll. If you dig THE ROLLING
STONES, AC/DC, DEF LEPPARD—this is for you.
