Story and Photography by Timothy Schumann On June 25th, here in El Paso, Texas, the iconic Rock band WHITESNAKE invaded the SOCORRO ENTERTAINMENT CENTER, supporting their May release of "The Purple Album"--and what a show this was! They took everybody on a trip down memory lane with songs like "Here I Go Again", "Still of the Night" and "Is This Love". Now, DAVID COVERDALE is no “spring chicken”, but you sure couldn't tell by his performance--he moved on stage as if he were in his 20's. I was thoroughly impressed! El Paso showed up in force for this one, as I knew they would. I mean, who doesn't like Whitesnake, right? After my 3 songs were up in the photo pit, I thought I would just put on a long lens and get some shots from the crowd, but to my dismay, it just wasn't meant to be, the venue was just way to packed, which in a way was a good thing. I love to see venues packed to the ceiling. In my opinion, this gives our fair city a good name when it comes to bringing top national acts here. So in a nutshell, this was a huge success for Socorro--great crowd, fantastic band! Everybody was singing along, as well as myself…I too had a great time. Needless to say, I love this job! If this tour makes a stop in your town, please make the effort to attend. I can promise you that its money well spent…so pack a bag for that trip down memory lane! www.whitesnake.com • www.facebook.com/Whitesnake
