adding a lot of flavor to this track. Listening is a true experience with great musicianship
and amazing singing. Kenny's voice gave me goose bumps with his powerful vocals in
“Shine”--boasting great melodies with Heavy Metal influences; coupled with Classic
Music echoes worthy of a stadium.
I greatly appreciate the voice of Kenny Matel. He is a fantastic vocalist whose singing is
clear as crystal, allowing the listener to understand every word in the lyrics. Another plus
is that he sings with such passion, that one can HEAR that he put all of his heart into
his vocals! “Out Of Control” is the best example of that, where stellar guitar work and
an epic rhythm section meld great lyrics with crisp singing. This is very enjoyable to
listen to and one can feel the spirit of retro Hard Rock. Another notable track is titled
“Weekend Rush”, which has a memorable Hard Rock sound with influences a la
KINGDOME COME and RATT. The vocals are delivered with pulsing passion and in a style
reminiscent of HELLOWEEN. RICK MISZEWSKI and CHET KING enhance the ambiance
with their bass and drum contributions. And, what an incredible guitar solo punctuates
this song! Guitarist MATT VOGT (also producer) proves that he is a seasoned and stellar
musician. Another example is his performance in the touching ballad “Angelina” with his
haunting solo in the vein of such bands like SCORPIONS, WARRANT, SKID ROW,
AEROSMITH or QUEENSRŸCHE.
Also worth a listen are the songs “Get a Little”--a great example of expert playing and
vocal ability with echoes of SAXON, and the song “One Minute To Midnight”--boasting
influences of Glam Metal like MOTLEY CRÜE.
Summing up, JÄGER creates excellent music that proves that they can perform both
moving ballads and the power songs that are the heart of Hard Rock. This CD compiles
their best musically, sure to be enjoyed by their fans, old and new. With each listen, it
left me wanting more! Their lyrics and music are sure to grab you by the heart! In my
opinion, every song is potential hit. I'm sure that every fan of Hard Rock, Metal and the
80’s Rock era will love this CD Weekend Rush. If I were to rate it, I would proclaim it
nothing less than a masterpiece!
