With a fervent fan base, numerous appearances, glowing reviews and milestones already under their kilt, the accolades are coming fast and furious for this much-acclaimed group, with a highlight being having served as support to Thunder at Wembley Arena in February 2016. As I mentioned, this was not my first forage into King King, but I would be seeing them through a different perspective this time … through my len’ s eye … as a new correspondent for a global music magazine. I was thrilled to be granted full access to both the stage and backstage areas, allowing me intimate vantage points.
The band delivered their normal blow-the-roof-off set, with songs like“ Waking Up”,“ Rush Hour”, and“ You Stopped The Rain”. And, as has been their habit, they closed with their rendition of the Whitesnake cover and crowd-pleaser,“ Stranger To Love”. They then answered the enthusiastic demand for an encore with“ Let Love In”, a masterful musical exclamation point to an enthralling evening; concluding my first delve into photojournalism for this publication.
