I’M FROM THE GOVERNMENT AND I’M HERE TO HELP Music by IFTGAIHTH “Territorial Grounds” Interview and Photography by Lee Hoffman • www.Buffalo24.com One of Ronald Reagan’s most famous quotes is, "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: ‘I'm from the government and I'm here to help.’” When it comes to music, those nine words are a pleasure to hear. I’M FROM THE GOVERNMENT AND I’M HERE TO HELP are quickly becoming one of Buffalo’s bigger Metal acts. I had the pleasure of catching up with them this month. ION Indie Magazine: First off, let me say thanks for the interview and thanks for all you do for the local scene-How have things changed since you first formed the group? Ronnie LePine (guitar): Pretty much from the time we started till now we’ve built a bond with each other. We’re all getting a feel for each other, all of our styles are coming together on the new material. Pretty much, the last stuff was already pre written and we had a couple new ones. But now this is all new material, all written together, spent the last year doing it. It’s more of a tight unit. Steve Keicher (drums): This whole idea started as a studio project for Tom and Ronnie, and from there it just kind of warped into more of an idea, a bigger idea, so yeah, it’s like Ronnie said, it’s more of a cohesive unit rather than a couple of guys throwing ideas around trying to make an art project. ION: What is the new album like? SK: We’re looking for 8 songs, 4 per side. ION: Four per side? There you go…a double-sided CD… RL: I personally want one song on one side and like 5 on the other. ION: You promote your own shows, you run the whole gig. Tom Bieler (vocals): Locally. ION: Locally. What prompted you to do that?
