Music by SILVERSEL “Heard It All Before”
LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
“April showers bring May flowers” is a phrase I heard often as a child when I’d
complain about sloshing to school in the rain. As I grew older, April meant one
thing to me…taxes. Both rain and taxes held a negative connotation for me.
But in the case of ION INDIE MAGAZINE…it’s ALL good, as April means another
month of the best of independent music from around the world!
And while I’m on the subject of “good things”, I’d like to welcome LISA
SASSERATH BOEHM, Photojournalist, to the ION team! Lisa takes her
“maiden voyage” in this jam-packed April edition with an interview with the
TROUBLE CITY ALL-STARS--punctuated by her fantastic photography.
Welcome, Lisa!
ION’S spotlight for April is fixed on those hard-rockin’ Georgia boys from SILVERSEL! J.B. BRIDGES sits down
with this exceptional band and learns their views and philosophies on their music and the industry. Check
out SILVERSEL inside this issue!
Once again, ION took it to the readers when seeking candidates for our “Spotlight Video” and “Artists To
Watch” section of our magazine. And once again…you came through with a plethora of “must see” videos.
Taking the video spotlight this month is FAIRVIEW UNION with their song “Before The Bridge Goes Down”.
Be sure and check them out…along with all the quality videos. Congratulations go out to all of these
deserving artists!
We are delighted to welcome back to our publication, the band DEFENDING CAIN. They appeared in ION last
year and are back celebrating their new CD release “The Perception”. Journalist JP RAWK covers their CD
release show for the readers of ION. And his involvement didn’t end there…JP also lent his vocals to a track
on the new album! Check out DEFENDING CAIN in this issue!
ION INDIE MAGAZINE was on location this past month in beautiful Apache Junction, AZ, at the base of the
Superstition Mountains for the filming of the epic music video “No Prince Charming” with CMT Country artist
ASHLEY WINELAND. Be looking for the special feature in an upcoming issue of our magazine, covering the
making of a song from studio to video.
By the way, if you are an artist or are in a band and wish to submit to our publication for consideration for a
future issue, you can do so at our web site at www.ionindiemagazine.com. Click on our “Submissions” link
and it will guide you through the process and what we require. If selected, a member of our staff will follow
up!
