fear. Considering the fact that technology is constantly developing and new weapons are
being created, which can not only destroy Europe, but the whole world. In my vision of the
future there will not be wars at all, and the army will only be on display. There will also be no
crime or terrorism.
We do not know what history will surprise us with. Stable powers for various reasons fell
at some point. Nothing is permanent in history. It is worth - and even it is even necessary - to
look forward and backwards and draw from this careful looking experience. If we want to
continue to implement the idea of a common Europe, this work can never stop.
Europe Day – What does it mean for young Europeans?
Iza Skucinska
Europe Day is celebrated every year on 5 or 9 day of May. 5th May is celebrated in countries
that are not the part of the EU but there are located in Europe. 9th May is a "European Union
Day" and this day is celebrated only in countries that are a part of EU like e.g. Poland, Italy,
Germany, Spain and France.
For young Europeans this day is an opportunity to meet other people from different nations
and cultures and to have a chat with them on historical, political, social and other topics. This
is also an opportunity to support the idea of integration and opposition to racism or
homophobia. In this day everyone is happy and free so people are nice to each other.
I think it isn't an important holiday nowadays and not many people remember about it .
However more and more younger people are starting to to celebrate it. I think that it should
be celebrated and all the people should do it.
NATIONAL IDENTITY - AM I PROUD OF MY COUNTRY?
Justyna Stan
I'm the young teenager from Poland and I am writing about my country because I’m really
proud of it.
The first of all, Poland is a beautiful place. On the south of Poland, there are beautiful Tatry
and Bieszczady Mountain. On the north, there is the Baltic Sea. Also, we have a lot of lakes
and rivers like Morskie Oko, Wisła or Odra. Poland has many famous places like horse stabbles
in Janów Podlaski and Michałów. Other famous place is the Wawel Castle in Kraków. Kraków
is an old capital city of Poland, visited by many tourists from all around the world.
Secondly, my country can show off many famous people as for example Maria Skłodowska-
Curie. She explored two elements - Radium and Polonium. Other famous person was Mikołaj
Kopernik. He explored that the Earth revolves around the sun. We also have famous people
at the present time. Our Pope - Jan Paweł II - was known by many people. He was a very
important person for our history and religion. Robert Lewandowski, the football player, is one
of the best known Polish sportsmen. He plays in Bayern Monachium team. He is the idol for
many young boys.
