She writes about her encounter with a young deprived woman; a victim of domestic violence. She describes how that one encounter brought change in her approach towards life. Journey of a peace educator, Harveen Ahluwalia, an Educational Consultant based in New Delhi. She writes about her experience (incident of Hindu-Muslim riot) during her stay in Srinagar, post assassination of our dynamic woman Prime Minister in 1984. She writes about her realization which gave her a different perspective as a teacher. She discovered her mission in life, i.e. to introduce peace values in school curriculum, which would bring about harmony amongst children. She says that as a teacher the whole approach needed a paradigm shift being a facilitator of peace in the classroom. She now educates children and teachers guided by compassion, perseverance and hope; cherishing each life.
