Highlights L3 Technologies Unveils Newly Expanded Pilot Training Center L3 Technologies’ newly expanded multi-purpose training center in Arlington provides world-leading simulation and instruction for both military and commercial pilots and state-of-the-art classroom facilities. The multi-purpose training center expansion added approximately 40,000 square feet, more than doubling the size of the high bay facility at the L3 Arlington facility. The new facilities include room for six additional full-fl ight simulators, classrooms incorporating augmented and virtual reality, and customer dedicated spaces. “This facility is an example of L3’s commitment to deliver to our customers the best training options available and help industry meet the growing, world-wide demand for highly- trained aviation professionals,” said Christopher E. Kubasik, L3’s Chairman, President and Chief Operating Offi cer. The company and City of Arlington leaders celebrated the opening of the facility expansion at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 6th. Designed by award-winning architectural fi rm Populous and brought to life with build partner, Shawmut Design and Construction, the stadium features a competition space with a built-in 85 feet-long LED wall that’s accompanied by an immersive sound and theatrical lighting system. “With Esports Stadium Arlington, we have positioned ourselves as both a national and international leader in the emerging esports industry. I can’t wait for people to see this state-of-the-art facility, the largest and most fl exible esports stadium in the country,” Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams said. “The opportunity to provide jobs combined with growing tourism is phenomenal.” Esports Stadium Arlington’s fl exibility gives it the ability to cater to a wide variety of audiences and event types. By transforming previously underutilized space of the Arlington Convention Center, Esports Stadium Arlington also showcases the adaptive re-use potential of esports.
