EDITOR'S
NOTE
Relationships... everyone has them and they come in many shapes and forms. We have personal relationships with our partners, children, family and/or friends, we have professional relationships at work or with those whom we interact with about services and goods provided or purchased, we even have relationships with our pets!
In many of these relationships, things can go wrong. We all view our relationships, and everything that happens within this interaction, through our own individual lenses. Lenses which have been developed over many years of cultural, educational and experiental development. It therefore isn't surprising that views may differ, and that they may even be completely opposite. And especially in situations where we really value or even need the relationship, this can be quite hard to deal with and as such can have a big impact on our lives.
And yet, we will also encounter people who will view relationships through the same lense as we do ourselves. Such a connections can make our relationships really special and valuable, and as such can also have a huge impact on our lives.
Given the impact of relationships on our professional and personal lives and our general wellbeing, the topic of relationships will often be brought up in coaching- or mentoring relationships. Reason enough for us to dedicate this issue of Insight, brought to you by the IIC&M, to relationships. I hope you will enjoy the read!
Warmest regards,
Denny
