Sponsored by NCFE for the first time, less than a month after the formation of a new
government, delegates will hear from the government, employers and providers how
the reforms are bedding in, in respect of both funding
and standards.
The conference will be chaired by Reeta Chakrabarti who is a BBC News
presenter and correspondent. She presents the One, Six and Ten
O'Clock News on BBC1 and also reports at home and abroad. She has
previously held many prestigious reporting roles within the BBC and
spent many years reporting politics from Westminster.
Apprenticeships will be the hot topic but the scale of reform
throughout the employment and skills sector is so large that other
important issues will be debated too. Growing Traineeships will be one
while preparing for the start of the Technical and Professional Education reforms. The Work and Health
Programme will also be up for discussion and we will ascertain how far English devolution is moving
ahead. Quality delivery will be an overarching theme throughout.
This year’s conference themes:
The Future for Providers and Apprenticeships
Technical and Professional Education
English Devolution and the Work Programme
Ensuring quality across programmes
Traineeships and Transition
