Introducing our new CEO! My name is Tracie Horton, and I am originally from Scott County, Virginia. My parents are Carlos and Nancy Horton, and I am an only child. I attended Emory & Henry College where I pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology with a contextual support in Chemistry. After college, I worked with the Virginia Department of Health as a Health Educator focusing on environmental and policy change as it relates to creating healthier communities. I also completed a Master’s of Business Administration and Graduate Certificate in Public Management from Old Dominion University during this time. In 2004, I relocated to Somerset and accepted a position with Adanta as an Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer. My responsibilities at Adanta, while always in the administrative scope, have included contracts, purchasing, insurance, credentialing, billing, and claims tracking/resolution, as well as any special projects assigned by the CEO. I have been married to Alan Hunley since November 2013, and have a soft spot in my heart for animals. I have a spoiled and sometimes rotten schnauzer by the name of Sydney. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and traveling. My husband is an avid boater, so we spend most weekends on Lake Cumberland. In my time at Adanta, I have seen the agency grow and change for the better. Like many businesses, we face new and unprecedented challenges to service delivery brought about by COVID-19, as well challenges to our business model. Although these trials upend the normal, they also represent an opportunity to set ourselves apart, to refocus and retool our business to continue to enhance the lives of the people we serve. I as well as our staff have many ideas to make this happen. I am honored to step into the role of CEO, and am excited to begin working with our staff to keep Adanta moving forward. 1-800-954-4782 https://www.adanta.org June 2020 In Touch with Southern Kentucky • 3
