Dr. Chad Henderson said, “The hardest part of the whole thing for me was that I felt I had abandoned my patients.” Henderson has been practicing in Somerset for 22 years, and he said that this was the first time his office had been closed for five consecutive weeks. Henderson Chiropractic specializes in relieving chronic pain, musculoskeletal injuries, and disc problems. They offer customizable wellness care for people who want to maintain their current health and prevent future injuries. “We are working hard to get everyone worked in and back on their routine schedules,” he said. “There are several new layers and things we have to do to keep our employees and our patients safe.” Patients must make an appointment to be seen by either Dr. Henderson or his partner, Dr. Angie Wilson. Although “walkins” are technically not taken, the doctors do accommodate them by referring them to the appointment protocol. “When patients arrive, we ask that they call the office to notify us that they are here and wait in their cars until we are ready for them to come in,” Henderson said. “We need an extra person just to answer phone calls now.” He explained that all patients must have their temperatures taken and must complete an “Illness Screening Questionnaire” before being admitted and escorted to a private examination room. Additionally, all visitors and patients are required to wear masks and gloves while inside the office. “We were already sanitizing between patients, but now we’ve seriously upgraded that procedure,” he said. Henderson said that while his office was shut down, his patients called for advice and reached out to him on FaceBook. He did his best to give them guidance and talk them through things at home. “My patients have been so great during all of this. They’ve been understanding, and I am blessed to have them,” he said. “No one has complained about all the extra precautions in the seven weeks since we’ve reopened.” Their office opens at 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.
