A girl’s best friend Stephens dazzles with her jewelry creations BY CHRISTOPHER HARRIS COMMONWEALTH JOURNAL The old song says that “diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” For Aubre Stephens, jewelry in general makes for pretty good company. Only 20, Stephens, a McCreary County native, has her own jewelrymaking business online, Elle Vee Jewelry. Within Stephens’ collection of creations, one can find all sorts of accessories, such as earrings, necklaces, anklets, bracelets and rings. “I try to make pieces that I’d love to wear and incorporate some recent trends,” said Stephens. “I always am looking out for cute charms and beads that I know people would love and incorporate them into pieces.” Stephens is currently a senior at Morehead State University in Kentucky, studying biomedical sciences. For her, Elle Vee Jewelry is a full-time job, and allows her to have a steady income while going to school -- and all while doing something she loves. 20 • In Touch with Southern Kentucky July 2020
