Harold and Terry consider their
customers family too. He noted that
the store serves some customers
today whose great-grandparents
were customers when his father-
in-law was first starting out. That
loyalty comes from sticking with
Anderson’s salesman philosophy,
best illustrated by the story of how
he once sold a box of paper clips for
a dime.
“I made comment about it and
Papaw told me to always remember
that raindrops fill the barrel,” Har-
old recalled. “That’s something I’ve
always subscribed to.
“We’ve been fortunate over the
years,” Harold continued. “Our cus-
tomers recognize the importance
of having locally-owned, brick-and-
mortar stores to go to because we
provide services that you can get no
other place.…We’re very apprecia-
tive of our customers.”
