Upcoming Support Groups AN EVENING OF REMEMBRANCE WINTER MEMORIAL SERVICE The community is invited for an evening of remembering loved ones. The service will include a slide show honoring loved ones, a message from a hospice staff member and special rituals of remembrance. Monday, Feb. 12, 6 p.m. CARE PACKAGE TO THE SELF February is a month to share our love with others, but it is also a time to remember to give love to ourselves. This three hour art-based workshop will assist those who have experienced a loss or caregiving explore the loving gift of self-care. Participants will be given the opportunity to process grief and caregiver burnout while learning skills and coping strategies through creative art making. Art activities will be accessible to all levels – no prior art making experience is needed. This workshop is for ages 14 and older. Cost is $15. Registration required. Saturday, Feb. 10, 1-4 p.m. CIRCLES OF HOPE: FAMILIES GROWING THROUGH GRIEF Support group for families with children and teens. Take the oppor- tunity to connect with others who share a similar experience, identify and learn healthy ways of coping with grief as well as honoring your loved ones. Second Monday of each month, 6-8 p.mNov. 13, Dec. 11, Jan. 8 and Feb. 12 4 | CARRYING THE LIGHT INTO THE NEW YEAR The Friends of the Labyrinth at Pathways invite you to our annual celebration of the season of rest. The Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year and a time to celebrate the increased daylight to come. This event is free and open to everyone. Available activities include walking the labyrinth, reflecting on your walk experience through creative activities, enjoying silent contemplation, and sharing hot cider with friends by the fireside. Light snacks will be provided. Sunday, Dec. 17, 4:30-6 p.m. VISION MAP WORKSHOP A vision map is a visualization technique to aid in recreating your life, your identity, your possibilities. The transitional experience of grief can leave you feeling lost; a vision map can help guide you forward. To go from where you are to where you’d like to be requires directed thought, and this can help you focus on that direction by clarifying your dreams, goals and hopes for the road ahead. This workshop is great for men, women, and teenagers 16 years old and up. All supplies are provided, but if you have something in particular you would like to put on your vision board or magazines to share, please bring them with you. This discussion group will address the unique and important issues that men experience when going through the grief process. First Wednesday of the month, 6:30-8 p.m. Nov. 1, Dec. 6, Jan. 3 and Feb. 7 Free to the public. No registration required. HEALING HEARTS This group is for adults grieving or coping with serious illness and would like to create more self-care in their lives. You will learn how to utilize art to increase your confidence with self-care. All skill levels are welcome. Monthly projects and supplies are provided, and participants may also bring their own projects with supplies. Completed projects can be donated to Pathways Hospice patients and families.
