22 EXPO MARS A compelling ride-show will transport our guests to Mars, where they land at the first settlement. EXPLORERS (day guests) see the Martian surface and peek into the settlement as SETTLERS (multi-day guests) role play as real Mars settlers. Fully immersed in the largest indoor simulated Mars environment in the world, guests will test their skills as they overcome exciting challenges. Earth-to-Mars Ride / Show - A simulated journey to Mars, through a combination of a high definition screen, motion platform and other show elements. This element could be ideal for sponsorship by a major aerospace or space tourism firm. Robots (Surface & Aerial) - INTERSPACE Settlers will use both surface rovers and aerial vehicles to collect data and perform tasks in the simulated Mars environment. One or more partners could provide these vehicles, receiving direct performance feedback and exposure. Telerobotic User Interfaces - As Settlers control robots from within the settlement, they will depend upon innovative user interfaces utilizing touch screens, haptic feedback, and other sensory inputs. Partners can showcase and obtain performance feedback on new control technologies. Space Suits - Settlers will depend upon a well constructed analog Mars space suit as they explore the simulated Mars terrain. The suit could be a fertile canvas for sponsor brands and logos. The suit-room and airlock are also an opportunity for sponsorship. Mining Equipment - Various Mars Settler roles will involve the use of small-scale mining and construction equipment. Front end loaders, collapsible cranes, cargo handlers, trommels, small drilling rigs and similar equipment could be provided by appropriate partners. Biotechnology / Alternative Energy Equipment - To become more self-sufficient, a Mars settlement will likely explore solar energy, power beaming, and bio-fuel production. These hot technologies here on Earth can be provided by partners who specialize in their development. Hydroponics Greenhouse - The greenhouse and its associated technologies are part of the compelling story of life on Mars. INTERSPACE Settlers will work hand-in-hand with researchers to perform experiments and test partner technology. Chemistry Lab - INTERSPACE Settlers and their guides perform material science and processing tasks in the chemistry lab. The lab itself and its associated equipment could be provided by one or more partners. Dining / Entertainment Area - Even people on Mars need a place to eat, relax and socialize. The naming rights for this area are available and would provide exposure to all INTERSPACE Settlers. Kitchen: Mars Cuisine - Working with a world class chef, selected INTERSPACE Settlers would prepare unique Mars cuisine. Partners could provide kitchen appliances, equipment and food supplies.
