Casino Human Resources Intern

Job Summary

The Human Resources Intern will support the daily operations of the Gun Lake Casino Human Resources Department. This role provides hands on experience in HR processes including customer service, data entry, employee onboarding, filing, and administering recognition programs. The intern will work closely with HR Representatives and the recruiting team to ensure smooth execution of HR functions and accurate maintenance of employee records.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist with customer service by responding to team member questions and requests
• Perform data entry in HRIS systems and tracking spreadsheets with support from the recruiting team
• Review new hire paperwork and ensure all forms are completed accurately
• Help obtain required identification and documentation for new hires
• Assist in coordinating and administering employee recognition programs
• Schedule licensing appointments, drug testing, and uniform fittings
• Enter employee data into ADP HRIS for hires, transfers, terminations, and status changes
• Support clerical aspects of the hiring process, including employment and insurance forms
• Notify departments of start dates and other onboarding details
• Scan, file, and organize HR documents into electronic records
• Assist with various HR research projects and special assignments

Essential Skill Qualifications Needed

• Must be 18 +
• High school diploma or GED required
• Some college; must be a junior or senior in a bachelor’ s program( Human Resources or Business preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Strong critical thinking and independent decision making skills
• Ability to communicate professionally with guests, team members, and management
