Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan started as a shaggy-haired kid singing on YouTube in 2007. He continues to sing, act, and post vlogs on his YouTube channel. He’s openly gay and supports groups like the Trevor Project. He’s very well-known in the YouTube community, and his video with Tyler Oakley, “The ‘Boyfriend’ Tag” won them a Teen Choice Award in 2014 for “Choice Web Collaboration”. In 2014, Time named him one of the “25 Most Influential Teens of 2014”.

In 2013, Troye was signed to EMI Australia, a Universal Music Australia label. In August 2014, Troye released a five-song EP titled TRXYE, which rose to No. 1 on iTunes in 55 countries and No. 5 on the Billboard 200. The lead single on TRXYE was “Happy Little Pill”, which went to No. 10 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

Troye released his second EP, a six-song creation entitled Wild, in September 2015, which got No. 1 on the ARIA and UK Digital Albums charts, and No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard 200. A three-part video series was released in September through December 2015 on Troye Sivan Vevo entitled “Blue Neighbourhood”. The series featured the songs “Wild”, “Fools”, and “Blue Neighbourhood” and followed the rocky romantic relationship between two boys, based off of Troye's own childhood and an imaginary love interest.

The Wild EP was an introduction to Troye’s first full-length album, Blue Neighbourhood, released in December 2015. The album quickly reached No. 1 on iTunes after it became available. The second single from Blue Neighbourhood that was released in November, “Youth”, reached the top 25 on Billboard Hot 100. A music video for “Youth” was released on Troye Sivan Vevo in February 2016.

Blue Neighbourhood was supported by Troye’s first tour, Troye Sivan Live, in 2015, and then with his Blue Neighbourhood tour in 2016.

Troye toured internationally, travelling through North America, Europe, and Oceania. He performed in cities like Milan, Paris, New York City, Seattle, and Sydney. Allie X, Shamir, and LANY were opening acts for shows in the North American leg. Astrid S opened on the European leg. He appeared and performed on Ellen, The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, and the Late Late Show starring James Corden. He’s helped fans come out and disregards all ideas of masculinity by painting his nails different colors.

This year, Troye revealed an all-new tour, the Suburbia Tour, which will go through the US and Canada this fall. So, if you didn’t get a chance to see the Blue Neighbourhood Tour, you have a chance to see this one. Tickets are available on troyesivan.com/tour, and all shows are all ages. If you’ve never heard of Troye Sivan, check his music out on his Vevo YouTube channel, or on iTunes. He’s worth a listen.
