CHECKING IN
WITH THE ITs
LYRICAL PLAYLIST

One of the genres we explored in Lyrics Appreciation Club was movie
soundtracks. I was deeply amazed by some of the songs, especially “You’ll
Be in My Heart” by Phil Collins from the Disney movie Tarzan. Just by
hearing the melody, it was possible to see different scenes from the movie in
my mind. I really love this song because it talks about love, family affection,
and respecting those different from you. It encourages us to be brave and
overcome the difficulties in our lives. Meanwhile, we can find support in our
loved ones, family and friends. I really enjoyed listening to other people’s
impressions from the song lyrics and melody. I enjoyed improving my
communication skills, too, by talking about songs and their meanings.
