When can I start – How long is the programme? You may start your PhD or MPhil programme at any time of the year. The normal time for completion (full-time) is three years for a PhD, one year for an MPhil. What subjects are available for a research degree? Keele provides supervision for research degrees in a wide range of subjects, which are based around where our academic staff have research expertise. It is likely you will be supervised by a researcher who is an international leader in their field. What funding is available? To support students undertaking research degrees, funding is available from ‘studentships’, which are university funded or funded by an external sponsor such as a research council or industry.
