International Student Guidebook | Page 18

All international students attending CWC will have one main international student advisor. The international student advisor works to understand and explore your ambitions, goals and identify obstacles in order to help you select the classes that will support your educational plan, such as requirements for a two-year degree and/or transferring to a four-year institution.

At first, CWC students meet with a general international student advisor and are then additionally assigned to a full-time faculty advisor in the area of study chosen. While the ultimate responsibility for decision-making and educational plans rest with the student working with their success coach, faculty advisors can be a valuable resources. The international student advisor and faculty advisors assist students with:

*Identification and clarification of life and career goals

*Selection of appropriate courses and other educational opportunities

*Evaluation of progress toward established goals

*Referral to other campus and community resources when appropriate

The International Student Advisor is Jason Harris. His office is located in Rustler Central. Most international student are required to set an appointment, which are encouraged, but drop-ins are available when possible.
