From your very first day with us you will automatically become a member of the University of Portsmouth Students ’ Union . It is an independent charity that works alongside the University , representing the views of over 23,000 students .
Being a part of our inclusive Union not only gives you representation and advice when you need it , but also gives you the chance to have a fulfilling experience at university while making a positive impact on your life and others ’ lives .
Whether it is helping University wide or just one student , the Union is for everyone .
Putting ideas into action
The Union is an organisation that takes action with their student Elected Officers leading the way . Each year you will have the opportunity to be a part of the work they do by taking part in student elections ; whether you cast your vote or run for one of the Elected Officer positions yourself .
Their dedicated Advice Team is there to help you with representation and advice if your experience is affected by academic or University issues .

We know it is not always easy to be in a new place . That is why our student-led groups are the perfect way to make friends and find new communities . There are over 150 student-led groups – from sports to culture , politics , faith and much more .
