Austin Powder says it employs certified blasters , state-of-the-art delivery systems and the safest and highest quality products as part of its mining offering . It also places great importance on environmental concerns , minimising or eliminating any environmental impacts .
It is the company ’ s Paradigm software , which it says represents the next generation of blasting software , that will be highlighted as part of the company ’ s MINExpo presence . This open-pit solution meets customer requirements by improving blast efficiency and production , all while providing complete blast analysis and optimisation .
Within the Paradigm offering are features such as : n Fragmentation modelling ; n PPV and PVS reduction ; n Charging and timing analysis ; n Fly rock probability modelling ; n Energy distribution mapping ; n 3D blast modelling ; n Muckpile footprint prediction ; n Overpressure prediction ; and n Volumetrics .
The software is , according to Austin Powder , able to create a pattern and visualise it in 3D , with plan or section views . It also shows a heatmap with spatial variability of any hole attribute , eg powder factor , charge weight , water depth , hole length , firing time , etc . Paradigm can also present an as-designed minimum burden heatmap ; update as-drilled diagrams using GPS or smart drill data ; update hole angles and directions using Boretrak or smart drill data ; confirm inter-pattern hole proximities ; recheck the minimum burden after drilling with 3D colour mapping ; View flyrock risk profile with 3D terrain imaging ; identify directions of vibration enhancement and check for impacts in 360 °; perform a pre-blast initiation animation ; and evaluate unlimited charging and timing scenarios to determine the best options for vibration , overpressure and fragmentation requirements .

This , the company says , provides exceptional reach and force , efficiently removing loose rock and debris . “ The ProScale ’ s user-friendly controls and rugged construction make it indispensable for maintaining safe and stable mine environments ,” the company added .
In addition to the ProMix and ProScale machines , Getman is inviting attendees to learn more about other products and solutions , such as the company ’ s utility machines , explosives chargers and production support equipment .

Addressing demand for gold requires discovery and development of new deposits , however this can take decades . With demand for gold not letting up , the sector must embrace and invest in new technologies that can bridge the gap , with Draslovka saying it can help here .
