Komatsu has made significant strides to grow the company ’ s portfolio of machines for underground hard-rock mining by adding key products like the WX15 LHD and HX45 mining truck
The WX15 LHD offers an excellent power-toweight ratio , robust frame and system design , according to Komatsu . It also comes with a large footbox in the narrow or wide cabins and many ergonomic features that enhance operator comfort and efficiency and ultimate performance .
It can be custom-configured with several options , including EPA Tier 3 / EU Stage IIIA and EPA Tier 4F / EU Stage V engine packages , and many other options like brake wear sensors and payload weighing .
The HX45 , meanwhile , is a powerful , reliable and ergonomic 45 t mining truck with , Komatsu says , best-in-class power rating and dumping angle , excellent turning radius , a trainer seat in the cab and control panel features designed to help boost operator efficiency and productivity . It also features an oscillating articulation with front suspension design that allows for a large amount of movement with a high degree of agility , helping to minimise stress on the frame and adding to the comfort of the operator .
“ The WX15 and HX45 make excellent production cycle partners for underground hardrock mid-seam mass mining applications , enabling productive three-pass loading ,” the company says .
