With a bit of digging you will find much to suggest that some of the chemicals included in everyday skincare products may be linked to health issues. In fact, many commercially produced soaps are not soap at all but chemical detergents, or a mixture of detergents and soap. Inspired by the wonderful natural surroundings of my little cottage in Cheshire I began experimenting with traditional soap making techniques and I was instantly hooked. Ruth Romano was conceived in my country cottage kitchen and quickly expanded to premises on the neighbouring farm when I set up my workshop in a former stable. It really is natural soap making and one of my work mates is Charlie the pheasant! From day one I decided that I didn’t want to use palm oil in my soap making” It was this sentence alone that confirmed to me that if anyone is looking for the perfect, handmade, organic skin products, this was the lady to be speaking with. She has made no allowances, not allowed herself to be influenced by media and buy into the whole sustainable Palm Oil propaganda, she has made a conscious decision NOT to use Palm Oil in any of her wonderful products, and we applaud her for that. You can read more about “Say No To Palm Oil” here, http://www.ruthromano.com/ our-ethics I am often asked if products can be sent to us to try out and write a review and the very first step is to check out the ingredients and all the products from Ruth Romano are created using the very best of everything. We were lucky enough to try out Cedarwood and Pine Soap, Lavender Dead Sea Bath Salt and the delicious Lime Lip Balm. The bathroom smelt just wonderful, the whole house became totally relaxed and after enjoying a long soak, I slept like a baby! My skin had never been softer and you could actually feel all the stresses of the day just slipping away. What I did not realise, as a sufferer of psoriasis, the health benefits that Dead Sea Salt has. Although I am able to control it with diet, I have never found anything that works to sooth from the outside as well. It seems that not only do the salts relax your muscles and soften your skin but they are also thought to have a remarkable effect on psoriasis. It is the abundance of minerals - magnesium, calcium and potassium etc. combined with the salt and relaxation of bathing that is thought to improve psoriasis. In fact, studies have been conducted on the health benefits of bathing in Dead Sea salts. Dr. J. Arndt studied the effect of Dead Sea salt baths on psoriasis. Fifty patients were treated for 3-4 weeks, taking 3-4 baths each week. In as little as one week, many pat ients treated with a 10% salt concentration in their baths experienced marked improvement. This improvement included relief from itching, sleep disturbances, and skin scaling. Scientists at Manchester University have recently found that salt baths ease the pain of arthritis by reducing painful inflammation of the joints. There is something for everyone here including soap, bath soaks, balms, gift sets, liquid soap and even mini soaps which make the perfect travelling companion avoiding that horrifically chemical laden hotel soaps! I cannot recommend these products enough so do please visit the website and order yourself some pure, ethical products for you, your family and friends. xx Contact Details http://www.ruthromano.com/ www.internationallifestylemagazine.com
