n honor of the magnificent achievement of ILM scoring 50 editions’ worth of their world-class publication, I proffer you this view on the phenomenon of undergoing all the requisite trials and tribulations involved in achieving any difficult goal, Because whether it’s a magazine or any other sort of endeavor, unless you’ve lived a succession of exemplary past lives and are now with silver spoon in mouth reaping your karmic rewards, the path to true achievement is fraught with pitfalls, obstruction and danger. If attaining success is challenging, maintaining success is even more so.
Aside from a few rare moments of easy-flow my own path of success has been riddled with so many pitfalls, obstructions and dangers any lesser barefoot doctor would have crumbled long before now. I say this to lend weight to the discoveries I’m about to share with you, in the hope they’ll help you similarly should you be engaged in the courageous act of responding to the hero’s call in your own life. The goal serves mostly to lend your journey’s thrust direction but is not in itself of any actual importance. Entrain the gibbering aspect of mind to be awake enough to notice appreciate and value (ascribe paramount significance to) the miracle of your own existence moment to moment. Being alive is the greatest gift of all, the greatest achievement, and in itself the greatest reward, and constitutes ultimate success. Success means being able to say in each and every moment, despite whatever pain, discomfort, inconvenience, humiliation, difficulty or tragedy may be coloring your experience, that you? &\?H[Y?
