Building a Community of Inquiry Around OER
for anyone to find. As a result, she has
noticed an increase in student engagement,
and the response from students
has been so positive that she is planning
to stop using traditional textbooks in all
her classes.
This project illustrates how a library-led
training program can be a
meaningful component of a successful
campus OER initiative. As the community
of OER adopters and advocates on
campus continues to grow, it is hoped
that faculty grant recipients, along with
librarians and ultimately even students,
can share their experiences with open
education in a spirit that fosters a CoI
surrounding OER on campus.
