Saturday, December 14 at 2pm FAMILY MATINEE The Nightmare Before Christmas
dir. Harry Selick, US, 1993, 35mm, 76 min.
Bored with the same old scare-and-scream routine, Pumpkin King Jack Skellington longs to spread the joy of Christmas. But his merry mission puts Santa in jeopardy and creates a nightmare for good little boys and girls everywhere. The Nightmare Before Christmas originated as a poem by producer/ co-writer Tim Burton in 1982. Following the success of films like Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, and Edward Scissorhands, Disney and Burton teamed up to develop a feature film version of the project. Featuring original music by Danny Elfman, the HalloweenChristmas hybrid is an audience favorite.
