A
s much as the city of Houston boasts
of being the most diverse city in the
nation, most of us don’t ask why. I
believe it’s because Houston and her
surrounding cities — which we
call the greater Houston area — has be-
come a very attractive metropolis for for-
eign investment and employment seekers
from around the nation and the world. How did this happen? In my view, many
of these accomplishments can be attributed
to Houston’s outstanding elected and ap-
pointed leadership. Add to that the blood,
sweat, and tears of the hardworking people
of Houston, and we certainly have a winner!
Of course we native Houstonians know
why. We’ve watched our great city progress
from a cow town (literally) to the home of
the largest medical complex on the planet,
the first city to be addressed from the sur-
face of the moon, the oil and gas capital of
the world, and one of the largest air and sea-
port systems in the world. We are also the
fourth largest city in the US … soon to be
the third. I’m sure I could go on with even more
achievements; however, iF any of our read-
ers feel I’ve left out some significant accom-
plishments, please write and let me know.
My email address is printed beneath my sig-
nature.

Have I mentioned that we have the third
largest Consular Corps in the nation?
I really love this city, and I’m sure that iF
you stay here long enough, you will, too.
For some, it’s love at first sight!
And, as always, thank you for your reader-
ship!
