International Foods Using Exotic Spices to Awaken the Senses

Indian restaurants have become a popular spot for experiencing exotic spices to awaken the senses . So , why do we love Indian food ? Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology discovered that unlike Western culture that blends similar flavors that complement each other , the Indian cuisine does the opposite by blending flavors that have “ negative pairing ” yet go well together . Instead of mixing bread , milk and butter , the Indian food would combine garlic , cardemon , pepper , chili , cinnamon , and coconut into one dish . The use of cinnamon and cardamon to a savory dish or pepper to a sweet dish are examples of “ negative pairing .” The Indian meals tend to use less processed incredients and include a wide variety of small bowls with foods to awaken the senses . The focus is on the senses – color , smell , texture , and wide spectrum of flavors – sweet , sour , savory , hot in with many distinctions . Indian dishes that are a vibrant yellow color have turmeric , an ancient spice with anitiinflammatory , anti-oxidant-boosted nutrition and are often paired with cauliflower and potatoes . Many US homes now keep curry , cardemon , cinnamon , ginger , garlic , cayenne pepper , chili , and coconut as staples in the kitchen to spice up their meals .
