The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China Luncheon
With two state visits and a national party congress, this has been an incredibly busy year in Chinese diplomacy. It’s
also been an opportunity for China to move forward in several significant ways. To bring Houston’s diplomatic com-
munity up to date on the multitude of changes, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston Li
Qiangmin hosted hundreds of guests at the Hilton Americas to mark president Donald trump’s state visit to China.
It was a luncheon designed to give full play to the “four high-level dialogue mechanisms” with a briefing on the latest
Chinese policy as established by the 19th national congress of the communist party of China this October and used
as a basis for talks during the U.S. Presidents recent state visit to China.
