Walking onto the St. Stephen’s campus is unique. Located in the Montrose area, the school’s set-up is one like
I’ve never seen before. It is comprised of one large building connecting to the St. Stephen’s church and also
has various rustic houses on the block of 1800 Sul Ross and even a few across the street. There are big red
sculptures at a few of the houses.
As I leave the parking lot, I can hear the echo of children laughing but what strikes me is these bright colorful
flags hung from the sides of the school, beaming under the sun, demanding to be seen. These bright beautiful
flags request attention, each compromised with a saying identifying who they are as a campus … school for
the wildly: creative, artistic, intelligent, scientific, curious, and engaged.
