investment and repatriation of profits, however, we do not currently
have any policy regarding tax free
investments.

Why has Pakistan not been able
to resolve their energy crisis in the
past 10 years?
For the past fifteen years Pakistan
has not added enough capacity to
our national grid, there are two major dams under review, namely Basha and Kalabagh. For political issues
Kalabagh dams has been on the hold,
but Basha dam would soon be starting the ground breaking, it may take
3-4 years to complete the dam.
With some smaller coal fired power
plants under construction, we may
come out of our power load shedding issue by 2018.

Construction of transnational pipelines offers great potential for US
firms. These pipelines include Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) pipeline, Pakistan-Iran
Pipelines under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) are two
major projects which will bring natural gas to Pakistan.We are also in the
process of receiving LPG from Qatar,
for which we have established special
terminal at Port Qasim.
