seen on the scene T St. Jude International Gala The second annual International Gala for Hope was a fabulous evening of art, culture, and fashion hosted by Sicardi and Ayers Bacino, Monday August 5, 2019. In support of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Houston’s elite, several accomplished international artists and Danny Nguyen Couture — this year’s featured designer — came together to create the Color of Hope Art Exhibition at Sicardi Gallery on West Alabama. Danny Nguyen Commercial invited iF Magazine to stop by and meet the artists. Artists who caught my eye that evening are: Flowers by Hoda El Senoussi Saleh, Egypt Through Series #1 by Marina Fernandez, Argentina Caravanserai by Federico Massigoge, Argentina Untitled 2013 by Elmer Ciseron, Honduras … and especially a beautiful portrait of a girl in a yellow head wrap called, Un Dia En Sambo Creek by Ana Maria Barletta, Honduras The Angel of Hope sketch is by Argentinian artist, Luisa Natalia Cardoso, who graduated from the School of Art in 1955. Luisa lost her battle with cancer in November of 2018 at the age of 83. The drawing was donated in her honor by her family. The mission of St. Jude Global is to improve the survival rates of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases worldwide through the sharing of knowledge, technology and organizational skills. https://www.stjude.org iF Magazine’s Global Photojournalist Heidi Powell-Prera 8 iF Magazine |September 2019
