PRO GuIDe MX cable and hose upgrades British motorcycle controls specialist Venhill has added the latest generation motocross machines to its extensive cable and hose fitment range, including the current Kawasaki KX250F and 450F and the Yamaha YZ250F and 450F. Developed for well-established race teams, Venhill cables and hoses offer "increased performance, improved feel and a lighter action with improved durability compared to factory-fitted items". Venhill offers a complete package - front and rear brake lines, as well as cables for clutch and throttle - all made in the UK and all available in a range of colours, in addition to standard braided steel and black. Venhill Powerhose Plus hoses feature a PTFE core for more efficient fluid flow and high heat resistance. A marine grade stainless steel braid is wrapped around the core to prevent further pressure expansion and protect the core against stones, debris and accident damage. The clutch cables are a direct swap for the OE versions and feature high quality cabling with stretch-resistant corded inner wire and a PTFE liner for minimum friction and lighter action - they don’t need to be lubricated either, a real plus in off-road sport. Venhill's off-road throttle cables feature a flexible marine-grade stainless steel inner wire for maximum flexibility and are PTFE-lined for minimum friction and a lighter action. Like the clutch cables, they don’t need lubrication. Single cable conversions, including a Venhill 600A dual rate twistgrip, are also available. to offer an excellent price to quality ratio. Dual density foam promises to give optimal comfort and it has a simple full-face transparent and removable screen, with smoked internal visor, ventilating the interior fabric. The weight is +/- 1,250 g, it is delivered with a helmet cover and available in matt black, black and white. Italian brakes specialist Newfren has quite a pedigree having been a top European manufacturer of brake discs and pads since before they were the standard tech for the motorcycle industry, since the days when brake shoes were the ubiquitous solution. Indeed, that is where the company started in the late 1950s, when Alessandro Barbero, a creative person who was always looking for new ideas, discovered a revolutionary new glue that changed brake shoe production for ever. The glue replaced the rivets for fixing the friction material to the brake shoe casting, and having installed what was then the first brake friction material gluing station in Europe, Barbero quickly went on to build Newfren into one of the most important brake shoe production specialists in Europe. Newfren has evolution and a never ending drive for improvement coded into its DNA, and recently the company introduced a new performance brake shoe called 'PRO RACE'. The body of the brake shoes is die-cast in a special aluminium alloy complying with EN 1676:2010 standards. The new friction material "with exceptional characteristics" is said to offer "considerable advantages in terms of braking, improving safety in city traffic thanks to its high resistance to fatigue". The Newfren brake pad range also evolves constantly, thanks in large part to victorious MX GP and street championship partnerships, with 20 different application- specific brake pad compounds available for most motorcycle models from the 1970s right up to today.
