Clutch upgrade options
for 2020 KTM/Husky
Following the news of Boise,
Idaho based clutch
manufacturer Rekluse's
collaboration with Husqvarna,
the company has now
announced a full product line
for 2020 KTM and Husqvarna
models.
Products include RadiusCX, Core
EXP 3.0, Core Manual TorqDrive,
Core Manual, TorqDrive Clutch
Pack, clutch covers, manual
slave cylinders, adjustable slave
cylinders, slave cylinder guards
and DDS clutch dampers.
RadiusCX is Rekluse’s 'flagship'
automatic clutch that brings all
their latest technologies into
one package. Engine stalling is
eliminated by the EXP
(automatic clutch) technology,
"allowing the rider to focus on

their ride and not their
clutch," according to
Rekluse Product Manager,
Austin Paden.
"TorqDrive (friction disc)
and Core (billet internal
component)
technologies work
together to move
more oil through the
clutch, improving
clutch stability over
wide temperature
ranges.
"Core Manual
TorqDrive is a race-
proven manual clutch
that increases friction
disc count by one. The
extra friction disc
increases the clutch’s
power transfer
capability. The billet
center hub and
pressure plate move more oil
through the clutch, eliminating
clutch fade and decreasing
operating temperatures."
Rekluse’s new DDS clutch
dampers are said to increase
clutch damper life by up to
KTM "radically race-refined" its EXC
range with a "new generation" of MY20
2 and 4-stroke Enduro machines,
including its premium KTM Six Days line-
up and a special edition KTM 300 EXC
TPI Erzbergrodeo. Developed on the
"toughest climbs, gnarliest terrain and in
deepest mud", the MY20 line-up includes
a new model - the Euro 4 homologated
KTM 150 EXC TPI. Features through the
range include "new and more efficient
engines, a redeveloped chassis with
improved WP XPLOR suspension,
improved handling and new bodywork,
air filter box, cooling system and
exhausts. Accessories include Neken
handlebars and clamps (France), Brembo
brakes, No-Dirt footpegs and CNC-milled
hubs with Giant rims as standard.
Ducati won first place in the
'Concept Bikes: New Design and
Prototypes by Manufacturers and
Independents' category at the
Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in
Italy in May. They did so with the
original and still much admired
Hypermotard 950 Concept designed
by Ducati's own Central Styling
unit. This follows the Red Dot
Award recently won by the Diavel
1260. First staged on the shores of
Lake Como in 1929, the event is
organised by BMW Group jointly
with the Villa d'Este hotel.

Custom Rumble, the two-yearly
competition for the customised Ducati
Scramblers, is back. The second edition,
which culminated in the final prize-giving
at World Ducati Week 2018, involved 132
international participants. For this third
edition there are four categories - two
each for the Scrambler 800 and Sixty2
and one for the 1100 - with five design
concepts: Rocker,
Cut-Down, All-
Terrain, Outsider
and, for the 1100,
Bully. The winning
bike will be
announced in May 2020.

Part way through the MXGP series
and it is looking like another banner
year for Vertex Pistons in Italy. HRC
star rider Tim Gajser is slugging it out
with KTM man Antonio Cairoli for the
championship lead, and both are well
clear of the chasing pack.
The piston of choice for many of the
leading MXGP teams, including
Yamaha Monster Energy, Kawasaki
KRT, Honda HRC, Yamaha Wilvo,
Yamaha Kemea, Kawasaki Gebben,
KTM Marchetti, Yamaha SDM Racing,
Yamaha SM Action and FontaRacing,
Vertex says its pistons are playing a
leading role in this 2019 season.
