Italian suspension specialist
Andreani Group has announced
a new motorcycle suspension
course for international dealers
and suspension performance
engineers being held at their
Pesaro, Italy headquarters (on
the Adriatic coast, close to the
Misano Adriatico road
racetrack) on November 11th
and 12th 2019.
In English, the course is
"dedicated to professional
mechanics who want to improve
and update their knowledge
about street and off-road
suspension set-ups.
"During the two days the
course will deal in a
professional and complete way
with setting and maintenance of
all motorcycle forks and shock
absorbers, with theory and
practical sessions. Delegates
will also learn how to rebuild,
tune and adjust settings for all
the best known brands of forks
and shock absorbers.
"The course instructors will be
the same professional Andreani
technicians who give assistance
to the racers in the paddocks at
the different world motorcycle
championship tracks of the
world. Based on twenty years
working side by side with
factory teams and riders from
all over the world, they will
share their knowledge and
experience with insights,
techniques and advice".
The course price is 610 euro,
with VAT and lunch included,
with a 500 euro reduction
available for anybody who buys
an exclusive Andreani machine
set (including universal toolbox
and one of the SP4 or SP5
vacuum pumps) within a month
of attending the course. The
course is totally free for those
who buy the above tools
package before the course date.

With more than 500 bikes updated
since EICMA 2018, the company's
brand objective is to deliver a
"Balanced Braking Performance' – a
four-stage concept that calibrates the
initial bite, the resulting deceleration,
the modulation (feel and control) that
the rider has going into a corner under
braking, and the point at which the
brake can be released after the apex of
a corner. "A track derived concept that
is just as valid when testing a street
bike pad," says International Sales
INTERNATIONAL DEALER NEWS - JUNE/JULY 2019
Manager John Davies.
"Our requirements for a high-
performance friction material are
based on a braking cycle with three
main phases: 0.5 seconds for the first
phase, the bite, with the compound
tested and refined to reach its
operating coefficient of friction
(COF/µ) rapidly. The second phase is
the deceleration with the COF/µ
central to determining the level of
performance achieved in terms of
deceleration and distance."
The third phase in Ferodo's approach
to achieving a "Balanced Braking
Performance" is the modulation, or
feel – its characteristics, with the
compound delivering a consistent
COF/µ as the braking temperature and
speed changes through the cycle of
application of braking force; "the
objective always being to allow the
rider to achieve consistent braking and
feel regardless of the operating
conditions."
The result is a 'Good', 'Better' and
'Best' programme that distributors
and dealers can select from - organic
'Carbon Grip' compound line for
motorcycles and scooters (carbon steel
composites manufactured using a
unique, proprietary vulcanisation
process); a 'Sinter Grip' powder
metallurgy based line (pressed metal
powders fused together at extreme
temperatures with a proprietary
binding matrix and process) for use
where sintered pads have been fitted
as Original Equipment; and their top-
of-the-line, race-proven, race-only
'Ceramic Grip' compounds – "pads
that place a premium on maximum
possible caliper temperature reduction
and class-leading modulation for the
kind of feel and control that can make
all the difference on the race track".
