BikeNord also distribute Remus exhausts (Austria), Davida helmets (UK), and Zandona protective clothing (Italy) among others. The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) in the United States has re- elected well known motorcycle advocate Paul Vitrano of Indian Motorcycle/Polaris Industries as its chairperson, Chuck Boderman of Honda as vice chair and Jim Woodruff of National Powersport Auctions as secretary/treasurer. The 12 directors also retained/elected Tim Buche as MIC President and CEO. Buche has served as the leader of the MIC’s staff since 1996. Jeff Brown of EagleRider motorcycle rentals and Tim Calhoun of Helmet House were recently elected new members of the board. Established in 1914, the MIC HQ is in Irvine, CA., with a government relations office in Washington, D.C. In May MV Agusta announced that the planned new Superveloce 800 Serie Oro would go into production "soon", with the first 300 due for delivery to dealers in March 2020. Described as a "combination of 1970s flair and modern technology", it will have a steel trellis chassis, 148 hp inline-3 cylinder 799 cc engine, 6-speed gearbox, triple-exit exhaust and TFT dashboard. Pre-orders are being taken at dealers or online. Part of the ECOBAT Battery Distribution Division, said to be the largest distributor of batteries in Europe, HEFRA Batteries is currently expanding its motorcycle department. HEFRA distributes batteries, chargers and boosters from its headquarters and warehouse in Rotterdam. Keeping over 300,000 batteries in stock at any time, HEFRA says it is able to "distribute small or large shipments throughout Europe and worldwide on a daily basis. We are known for our high stock availability, over 99% fill rate, brand range and technical knowledge". With over fifty years of experience in the battery industry, HEFRA says it has "all the specialist tools needed to advise and supply any requirement of batteries and accessories". With VARTA, SKYRICH, DEKA, ODYSSEY, NOCO and private label VMF and LUCAS in its portfolio, HEFRA has told IDN that it is looking for dealers and distributors in Europe to increase its network. HEFRA is part of the ECOBAT Group, the largest manufacturer of lead acid batteries worldwide that also operates a European battery scrap collection business, which recycles 120 million used batteries a year.
