Universal ‘ 140 ’ windshield
Kappa launched a range of flyscreens and windshields last year , including their minimalist new ‘ 100ALK ’ design in aluminium . The company has now added to the range with this new ‘ 140 ’ version – a slightly larger design , using more standard materials , but retaining the look of the smaller original design . The protective surface is made of Plexiglass , measuring 35 x 41 cm ( H x L ) and its main design
characteristic is a slightly angled , bevelled shape , highlighted by the moulding . Available in clear or smoke , the screen is universal as it can be fitted to any bike using Kappa ’ s separately available model-specific installation kit . Installation of the screen does not involve any structural modifications to the motorcycle . This is the same kit used to install the 100ALK windshield , which enables riders to switch screens on the basis of looks or functionality . Currently the kit is available for selected BMW , Moto Guzzi , Triumph and Yamaha models ( XSR 900 seen here ), with the fitment list being updated regularly . Also seen here , this KS920 universal multimedia ‘ Smart Clip ’ fits handlebars from 8 to 35mm and can clamp to irregular profiled bars to attach a wide range and size of devices securely . Insertion and removal is also “ smart ”; the device is securely restrained by three claws , which can be extended using a single command . The KS920M can accommodate overall sizes from a minimum of 112 x 52 mm to a maximum of 148 x 75 mm and be used with smartphones with an overall size ranging from a minimum of 144 x 67 mm to a maximum of 178 x 90 mm .

The BMW R nineT has been begging for the “ Ilmberger treatment ”, and never ones to do anything by halves , the Bavarian carbon fibre parts specialist has exploited the versatility of a platform that has quickly become a favourite with the custom community by developing a range of designs that pay homage to the legendary Superbikes of the 1970s . So far Ilmberger has completed 12 model-specific parts , with options such as “ a street fairing as well as an exclusive version for racing , which works well on the race track , but is also a great basis for customising the bike , as customers often install very small lights .
With our race fairing , we pave the way for all fans of the racing look ,” says Julius Ilmberger , Managing Director of Ilmberger Carbonparts . Core piece of the carbon collection for the BMW R nineT ‘ Racer ’ is the engine spoiler – “ a direct adaption from racing , which also looks quite impressive on the street version .” The full line-up includes a belly pan , cover behind the headlight , fairing holder , front fender , tank vent holder , pillion seat cover ( with or without holders ), rear splash guard , rear undertray ( without number plate holder ), side covers at the seat ( left and right ), silencer protector ( rear ) and complete top fairing in choice of race or street style .

Weight saving Ducati ‘ Stealth ’ sprockets
Sprocket brand of choice for more than 60 World Champions of various disciplines ( including three Pikes Peak hill climb successes – a real sprocket killer !), you would think that there couldn ’ t possibly be any new products from legendary manufacturer Supersprox to bring to the market . But the motorcycle industry rarely stands still , and there are always new opportunities , applications and fitments . The latest addition from the inventor of aluminium and aluminium and steel combination sprockets is a new range of sprockets for Ducati motorcycles . With a claimed weight reduction compared to the OEM steel sprocket of over 30 %, Supersprox ‘ Stealth ’ racing sprockets have steel teeth for long life and an aluminium core for light weight . Produced in Europe with production in Supersprox ’ Polish and Ukraine factories , the company is currently working with HRC , KTM , Yamaha and Husqvarna factory teams to develop their latest idea of a sprocket that will help extend chain life by more than 40 %. “ Although this may sound like an exaggeration , we are closer than you may imagine ,” says Director General DJ Maughfling , whose father Roger founded the company in the 1950s . “ The goal is to keep riding affordable for our clients ,” says DJ . With their ‘ Stealth ’ sprockets featuring steel teeth that last up to three times longer than aluminium , and aluminium cores that are 70 percent light than steel , if anyone has the credentials to back up ambitions such as these , Supersprox certainly does . DJ says that the company has openings for importer / distributors in certain markets and will be at EICMA to meet potential new partners .
