Variator for
BMW C600
J. COSTA has worked with BMW scooter owners to develop
what it describes as the ultimate variator for the C600 and
C650GT with the launch of its new EVO4RC.
This latest version of the performance variator from J. Costa
has a specially designed one-piece, stainless steel slider with
an anti-friction treatment. The new blue weights, which are
made from reinforced plastic with kevlar in order to have a
better glide and durability, are inspired by the BMW corporate
colours. Two sets of weights, 17.5g and 18g, are supplied in
each kit to match user requirements. The 18g weights are said
to avoid the cut-off of the fuel injection. The linear and
progressive acceleration that they allow is said to make it
easier to reach top speed without the cut-off kicking in.

'Shot' summer glove
NEW from Orina, the 'Shot' leather glove features
their TFL Cool System.
Through the special TFL processing of the leather,
80% of the solar energy is said to be reflected,
resulting in a claimed difference of up to 20
degrees C in a material that is optimised for
durability.
The partly perforated leather provides ventilation.
Shock-absorbing gel on the palms reduces
vibrations, and external seams, knuckle protectors
and a protector on the back of the hand are said to
make the 'Shot' an ideal summer riding solution.

Öhlins shocks for lightweight
Supersport models
ÖHLINS' STX46 shock is designed specifically for use on
smaller capacity Supersport machines such as the Honda
CBR250/300R and Kawasaki Ninja 250/300.
Using their proven "monotube" technology, 36 or 46mm
pistons and an external or internal reservoir, a range of spring
choices are available to further tune the shocks along with
adjustable rebound and compression damping as well as
shock length adjustment.
“This relatively new and fast growing sector is important
for Öhlins as it gets riders on our products from a younger age,
showing them the additional performance that is available in
handling,” said Robert Brinkmark, Öhlins’ Product Manager.
“These new bikes ‘look the part’, and with the addition of
one of our shock absorbers they will be able to handle in a
similar way to their bigger brothers in the 600 and 1,000cc
Hypersports sector".
