COMMENT: INTERMOT February?.......................................................... 4
After years under pressure from EICMA and a reluctant exhibitor community, INTERMOT organisers Koelmesse and the conceptual owner IVM have finally made the right decision- but has it been 20 years too late? February is already a crowded month where shows are concerned, and it just got worse.
SPRINT FILTERS: Platform specific performance components.................... 22
The traditional ' one size fits all ' approach to a model specific air filter design can and does work for motorcycles where the use of the bike is pretty uniform. But does that really work for multi-purpose model specifications like the BMW R 1300 GS? Sprint Filters think not and have four filter design options for the Beemer ' s four different riding characters.
SHOT RACE GEAR: Shot and SRG Airbags.......................... 24-25
Welcomed at EICMA 2024 as the first Airbag vest specifically for MX wear, the Shot and SRG-1 airbags and vests have continued to have a positive response. Thanks to the innovation and creativity of businesses like Shot Race Gear and in & motion in France, airbags for motorcyclists have been turned from an abstract idea into a real and practical safety device.
SURFLEX: 75 years of clutch technology................................................ 14
Founded in 1951 and granted the Italian ' Marchio Storico '- prestigious recognition as an ' industrially and commercially important brand and business ' Surflex has reached a milestone that very few motorcycle parts and accessory manufacturers and brands get to. SUPERSPROX: Did he really throw them into the River Danube?............ 18-20
The impossibly tight 2026 Dakar rally closed with Supersprox celebrating its 21st Dakar Rally victory from 2001 to 2026. Supersprox CEO( DJ Maughfling) visited KTM to show them the first bi-metallic ' ready to race ' Supersprox-stealth sprockets in 2024. DJ says he left them 10-15 samples to test and race with but upset that they broke, he threw them into the River Danube after going back to collect the pieces. The rest, however, is history.
