Influential Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey has warned that recent events in US private credit markets( which includes the still fast-growing Private Equity sector) have worrying echoes of the subprime mortgage crisis that triggered the global financial crash of 2028. The burgeoning private credit markets essentially owe their existence to investors and lenders trying to circumvent the banking and finance industry guard rails that were put in place to try to avoid a repeat of the 2008 catastrophe( think Dodd Frank Act, Basel I, II & II etc).
WorldSBK says it has achieved renewal of ISO 20121 certification. Aligned with the latest ISO 20121:2024 standard, it is said to " confirm WorldSBK ' s ongoing commitment to responsible event management and to the continuous improvement process established under the Racing for the Future group strategy." Originally obtained after the 2024 season, the ISO 20121 certification recognises WorldSBK ' s structured approach to " reducing environmental impact, enhancing social value, and strengthening collaboration with circuits, partners, local communities and all stakeholders involved in the Championship ecosystem."
Beachman Motor Company, a Canadian startup best known for its retro-inspired e-bikes, has officially secured both national and international motorcycle manufacturer licenses, marking a major step in its growth from a boutique builder to a recognised OEM. The approvals, granted by the Canadian federal government and SAE International, establish Beachman as the first new Canadian motorcycle manufacturer in more than a decade.
