COMMENT: Registration statistics and voluntary European training.................... 4
Our industry has often been characterised by the apparent tension that theoretically has existed in the past between the riders rights lobbies and in the interests of OEM manufacturers, PA &/ G & A brands, distributors, dealers and riders themselves. Singing from the same page is best for consumer and industry interests.
BRP: Paris is home to first flagship store in Europe.......................................... 10
In common with all powersports manufacturers, the Canadian manufacturer has been facing ' headwinds ' of late. But that hasn ' t stopped its French multi-outlet dealer group- Powersports Canada- from opening BRP ' s first ever flagship store in Paris- with the new CanAm electrics up front and centre stage.
CFMOTO: The Chinese manufacturer is the Asian Breakout Star...................... 24
Not everything runs smoothly- in business as in life. CFMoto has had to rebuild some of its European distribution arrangements with Hand Leeb GmbH taking over from the ill-fated deal with KTM. However, it seems that nothing is stopping the leading Chinese manufacturer from achieving ' escape velocity '!
YAMAHA: A thing of beauty................................................................ 20
Ever since Yamaha embarked on its robotic riding research and projects, first with ' Andy ', then with the first MOTOROiD iteration and now with the award- winning MOTOROiD2, it has established a particular position for itself in the future tech landscape. It seems the ' Keepers of The Design Flame ' at the Red Dot institution in Essen, Germany agree.
WORLD SUPERCROSS: Five races, five countries, five continents............ 48
After a difficult first few years, WSX appears to be headed in the right direction at last. A rebuilt financial and ownership structure appears to have been the catalyst for ' getting it right '. Now all that remains to be seen if, having ' booked the bands ' the people turn up!
