Gougéres
Gougerés is a is a specialty from
Burgundy region.You can make
small ones as an appetizer or
bigger ones for snacking.
Ingredients:
for around 20 pieces:
1 cup of water
100 g butter
150 g flour
180 g grated Emmental cheese
5 eggs
1 tsp Muscad nut powder
1 big pinch of salt
Tip: Improvise and use Comté or any other
graded cheese for fun instead of Emmental.

Steps:
1. Boil the water and the butter together in a big pot.
2. When you reach the boiling point, pour the flour and stir
until you obtain a paste that you have to work into a ball
3. Remove from the hob and add each egg - beaten in omelette - one after the other.
4. When the dough is ready (fluid and homogenous), add the
cheese, the salt, and the muscad nut.
5. With the help of two big spoons, make small balls (round
4cm of diameter and high of 2cm ) and place them on an oven
plate covered with baking paper.
6. Pre-heat your oven at 200 C. Place in the oven and let it
cook for 20-25 min. Start checking after 20 min and stop
when it has a nice golden color. Wait around 5 min and then
serve them for degustation. Bon appétit!
