The football field must have a rectangular shape. Its shorter side is called the
goal line and its length should be between 45 and 90 meters. The longer side is
called the lateral line, the length of which ranges from 90 to 120 meters. As the
names of the sides indicate, the playing field is limited by lines. In addition to the
side and goal lines, there is also a center line dividing the pitch into two equal
parts. In the middle of the pitch a circle with a radius of 9.15 meters is
designated. Under each goal there is a penalty area. Its length is 16.5 meters, the
width depends on the width of the goal line. At the distance of 11 meters from
the goal there is a penalty point from which penalty shootouts are made. In each
corner of the pitch there are flags. The gates are placed in the middle of each
goal line. The gate's width is 7.32 meters and the height is 2.44 meters.
Judge
The match is led by an arbitrator. He watches over compliance with the rules,
the appropriate dress of players, settles disputes, breaks down the competition
if necessary. Judges are assisted by judges assistants, whose duties include
pointing to the party whose player has hit the ball outside the side line, indicating
the player in the offside position, help in changing players, assisting the referee
in disputable situations. The fourth arbiter is a technical judge who is outside the
field and deals with technical issues. It prepares the players' entrance to the pitch
and shows the time added by the main referee.
