Something special right from the start .
What else could a golf club be that was purchased in gold bullion ? It all began November 16 , 1909 , when several members of the Bryn Mawr Golf Club decided to found a new golf club . The founding members purchased farmland alongside a suburban Minneapolis streetcar line that is now Interlachen Country Club .
Interlachen has traveled a long road since then . Since the early 20th century , the club has served as an Edina landmark with a storied history while constantly adapting to modern amenities . Over the next three years , Interlachen will invest more than $ 32 million in its golf course and facilities . The project includes an Andrew Green golf course restoration , a new casual restaurant and event space , fitness center , and indoor and outdoor racquet courts .
