How do you handle intensity? Do you crawl in a
cave? Or do you keep breathing and not shy away?
Could you see the intensity as an opportunity for
your transformation to better your life?
If you’ve ever experienced discomfort and distraction while sitting in meditation, this is a good
metaphor: when it get uncomfortable and you have
an itch that takes over your thoughts. It’s intense
and you can’t think of anything else, let alone be
still and quiet in your mind. And it’s not even
wether or not you scratch it, it’s what happened to
the state of your mind during the process. How do
you handle it? Did you notice that it eventually
changed and subsided if you just sat and watched?
And maybe you were stronger and more confident
as a result.
So, don’t shy away, instead welcome the intense situations and notice how you react. Then keep breathing and know that it will change. Invite yourself to
transform in ways you never have before. Try something new, challenge yourself, be brave, talk about
things you are scared to speak of, tell the people that
you love that you love them and shake out old patterns by committing to change. You might just be
surprised and amazed at the results when you don’t
back away or shut down in intense situations.
We are often encouraged to ‘focus on the positive’
while avoiding some intense feelings or situations
that are crying out to be noticed. Sometimes looking
at the truth, even if it is intense or uncomfortable,
can be the most enlightening thing to do. It can be
a revealing and transformative process.
I hope you enjoy this issue of Interior Wellness, in
the pages you will find tools and information to assist you through your own intensities and transformations. Find a local teacher or practitioner to help
you on the way and remember to keep breathing!

Thank you Elizabeth for the wonderful experience of the Wellness Festival, it gave me
the inspiration to sing my sacred songs, and
connect with other women who love to sing.
We have now joined together and created a
singing group Triple Spiral and are enjoying
the creative process of singing and performing our songs. ~ Therese
Just wanted to tell you thanks again for an
incredible festival. You are really so well organized and are so adept at creating a wonderful positive atmosphere for us to all meet
together like that. I have participated in fairs
in several U.S. states and elsewhere in BC
and yours is just top notch in my mind.
~ Cathy
